Sarah E. Kay, Esq., BCS is a member of the Tampa Bay Academy of Collaborative Divorce Professionals, a highly selective non-profit association of independent attorneys, neutral financials, and neutral facilitators who specialize in and commit to collaborative divorce.
Collaborative Divorce is an alternative to an adversarial divorce within the court system. Each party in a Collaborative Divorce has a collaboratively trained attorney who counsels them. The parties, with assistance from their counsel, will carefully select and jointly hire a neutral financial professional and a neutral facilitator who will provide both of them with uniquely-tailored information and support during the process. The team of parties, attorneys, and joint neutrals will work together to identify goals, gather relevant information and documents, brainstorm solutions, the negotiate, draft, and implement a Collaborative Settlement Agreement. The professionals involved in a Collaborative Divorce are focused on problem-solving, not adversarial advocacy.
